In this episode of our Exmark Original Series, Signature Stories, we travel to St. Joseph, Missouri to hear the unique story of Jessie Hall, owner of All-In Lawn Care. Hall broke into the industry working under another landscaping contractor, starting off as “bottom of the barrel,” full-time summer help. After eight years, and working her way up to become a supervisor, she decided to go off on her own. In 2011, she formed her own landscaping business—quickly earning a reputation for quality and reliability. It was soon after that her former employer approached her to buy out his business—and the rest is history.
A New Outlook
It wasn’t until 2013 that Jessie started to hire her own employees, but those two years of working solo helped her develop a new outlook on the industry. She says that they deepened her respect for the work she—and thousands of others like her—put in day-to-day to help beautify America’s greenspaces. Likewise, she says the relationships she’s built with customers, employees, and the St. Joseph community came about naturally, thanks to the years of work she already had in the industry.
After more than 17 years in business, Jessie feels like she’s living the landscaping dream. In fact, she’s fortunate enough to have been able to mow her first client’s property for nearly that entire time. She says it’s humbling to know people care so much about her lawncare services and respect her for doing this work. And, this is a level of level of care and respect she and her team reciprocate with every mow.
