If you’ve spent any time looking up ideas for your next barbeque, chances are you know how well Ben Palmer knows his way around the grill—and the backyard. As the creator behind Grill This, Smoke That, the newest Exmark Ambassador has built a following on the idea that great food and great outdoor living go hand in hand. So, when it came time to upgrade his zero-turn mower, he didn’t just want something that cut grass. He wanted something that worked as hard as he does and looked good doing it: the Exmark Radius E-Series.
A Family History With the Brand
Before Palmer ever fired up his first smoker, he was learning the lawn care business. His family ran a landscaping service called Greenacres Lawn and Garden, and the first zero-turn mower their crew ever used was an Exmark. So, when it came time to upgrade his mower, there was no question which brand to choose.
Palmer’s New Exmark Radius E-Series
Ben walks through the mower the same way he’d walk a viewer through one of his mouthwatering cooks, starting with the 48-inch Series 2+ deck. First thing he highlights is the discharge chute—his last mower had a spring-loaded chute, and he had to rig up a whole system to just hold it up when rolling in and out of storage. On the E-Series, it’s just a simple flip up (then down), and he’s good to mow.
Then he moves on to the other highlights: deck height adjustment across a wide range of increments, and the straightforward controls. Around back, he shows off the powerful Kawasaki engine, with everything you’d routinely need visible and easily accessible, including the air filter, oil fill, battery terminals, and fuse panel.
Palmer points out one feature that’ll matter to anyone who’s run a mower for a few seasons. A cover piece pops up, slides back, and comes off, opening the top of the deck for an easy clean after every mow. Grass building up around the belts can knock them off track, and wet clippings sitting on metal can rust it out over time. The Radius E-Series makes this routine task easy to fold into your weekend mowing routine.
The deck also lifts from the front for belt access, with the tensioner pulley and spring right there if you ever need them. Finally, the roll bar is the last thing Palmer mentions, and he doesn’t oversell it. If the mower rolls on a slope, it keeps the machine’s weight off the operator.

Palmer’s take is pretty simple: nothing pairs better than good barbeque and a beautiful lawn. The family history with Exmark was already there. The Radius E-Series made the decision easy.
