In this Backyard Life video, take a tour of NASCAR great Austin Dillon’s backyard. Yes, the rumors are true: he and his wife have traded in their longtime barn home for new digs. So, here’s your insider access to what the Dillon family loves most about their outdoor living space.
The Pool
When he’s not racing, Dillon’s a self-proclaimed pool guy. “I love hanging out by the pool with friends and family,” he says. While showing it off to us, he’s quick to credit his wife for all of the poolside decorating. “It’s pretty cool!”
One of the features Dillon likes most about his pool is the gazebo that flanks it. It’s his favorite spot to sit and view wildlife that calls his property home, too. In particular, there are a couple of deer and turkeys he enjoys observing near his pond.
Besides a shaded area to relax under, Dillon’s gazebo also houses his Traeger grill, providing convenient poolside BBQs. Although, admittedly, not a true pitmaster when it comes to cooking, Dillon loves his pellet grill. Specifically, its ease of use; he simply fills it with pellets, powers it on, and it’s ready to go.
The Fire Pit
Every backyard needs a fire pit, and you can find Dillon’s by the barn behind his home. He views it as a communal area for good times with family and friends, especially as his newborn son, Ace, gets older. “We definitely want to have some good s’more times,” he says. While Dillon hasn’t had the chance to christen his fire pit yet, he’s anxious to ignite it—and some backyard fun—soon.
The Pond
Although the pool and gazebo are special to him, Dillon’s favorite spot on the property is his pond. Having recently produced a Backyard Life pond management video on his grandfather’s property, Dillon now owns one, too. “I’ve been enjoying this place for a long time, and it’s a true treasure to me. I love the outdoors, and wildlife,” says Dillon. And, of course, he adds, “I can’t wait to be able to take Ace out here to try and catch a bass. It’s all fun.”
